Steve Epstein
Steve grew up in and around New York City. He was always drawing but didn't get any
formal art education until his mid twenties. He has studied drawing and painting at the Art Students League and School of Visual Arts in Manhattan.
Steve has been included in group exhibitions at the Salmagundi Club, Westbeth Gallery and the Agora Gallery and a nearby zoo known for it's reptile house. Local solo shows include unlikely places like WBGO, a listener sponsored jazz station, and Staten Island Cable TV, funky coffee shops, restaurants and bookstores.
Steve works mostly in acrylics and veers between representational and expressionistic themes looking for dark whimsy, the absurd and the beautiful in the ordinary.
