Patrick Sean Kelley Oil Painting, Contemporary Art
Patrick Kelley
"There is nothing more intimidating than standing in front of
a blank canvas and wondering what it will become.
There is also nothing more exhilarating."
"I am influenced by some of the modern masters; Pollack, Munch, Klimt, Kandinsky, Miro, Caldwell, Calder, Lamb, just to name a few.
I also find myself fascinated with certain religious subjects and being influenced by the Dutch Renaissance painters for their use of light, shadow and amazing ability to capture the human expression. My latest work explores the subject of art and life."
Having come from a family of renowned artists, Patrick developed his own unique style of drawing, sculpting and painting, and received a scholarship to the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where he was trained in the arts and as a painter.
In his latest body of work, the palette is rich in jewel tones that seem to swirl about the subject as both organic and geometric shapes. The contrast creates a striking balance of linear one-dimensional planes and soft living three-dimensional forms.
Patrick exhibits his work across the country. He has received numerous art, advertising, design, illustration & painting awards for creative excellence. His latest works are explored in oil on gallery style canvas.
Patrick also is the Regional Midwest Creative Director for TMP Worldwide, Chicago.

Press Release
Patrick Sean Kelley's works, like the artist himself, are a multi-faceted phenomenon. Since a young age, Kelley showed extraordinary promise in the arts, sweeping competitions and winning a scholarship to the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. One look at Kelley's elegant figures, strewn across surreal expressionist worlds of deconstructed perspective, and his outstanding record is accounted for. The works speak in broad, bold, richly defined terms. There is the female nude painted with masterfully defined chiaroscuro. Kelley works easily between sensibilities, creating a complexity that is hard to look away from. His images glorify and make sensuous the female form. He endows the female form with an aloofness and beauty. Their mystique is alluring. Their presentation is sublime. Kelley presents powerful human expression, precise detail, metaphoric environments, and figures that attract the eye. Having shown his work across the country, Kelley's extensive career is marked by 20 years of successful shows across the East Coast.
