Grant Cross of Bakersfield, CA, USA, has been involved in an artistic environment all of his life. From his early childhood until his current 31 years of age, Grant has been surrounded by 3 generations of artists in his family.

While Grant has had this artistic exposure, development as an artist, has been mostly through self motivation and education with the exception of formal art classes in high school. Additionally, he has been mentored by several well established artists in resent years. Further, Grant has been greatly influenced by other famous artist of the last 500 years and often studies their work in books of his home library.

He has always pushed his envelope through his artwork, ranging from avant-garde fantasy art, to his fine art studies and re drawings of old masters works. Additionally, he enjoys delving into 3d artistic sculptures. Whether fine art or whimsical creations of his imagination, Grant carries the detail in his art to the extreme.

Grant has been “Featured Artist” on two occasions in 2005 in “Heavy Metal” Magazine the adult illustrated fantasy magazine. Kevin Eastman publisher and editor-in-chief of “Heavy Metal” Magazine said in published notes of Grants Work:
